Conference Ambassador Program

The Newcastle Conference Ambassador Programme began as a partnership between the Newcastle Visitor and Convention Bureau and the University of Newcastle with the aim of bringing state, national and international conferences to Newcastle.

‘Ambassadors’ play a key role in securing conferences for their home cities and are recruited from academic, medical, business and professional institutions and organisations operating in and around Newcastle.

Newcastle is at the forefront of many exciting developments especially in medicine, education and industry. The hosting of a well-managed conference is an ideal way to showcase and promote these developments and offers the perfect opportunity to highlight the University, your Faculty or organisation and the work or research it does.

The programme seeks to make it as easy as possible to bring a conference to the City, from the creation of a tailored bid document through to venue selection and detailed conference organisation.

Why you should become a Newcastle Conference Ambassador?

  • Increase the profile and recognition of the University or your organisation.
  • Enhance the reputation of your area of expertise.
  • Earn recognition from your professional colleagues.
  • Conferences can offer excellent networking opportunities, which can lead to research partnerships, help secure future funding and establish worldwide links in the specialist field of the meeting.
  • Access to free and practical advice and support services that make bidding for a conference much easier.
  • Bring economic benefit as well as increased exposure to Newcastle and the Hunter Region as a conference and tourist destination.
